Huakaiwaka Indoor Gallery – opens 16 November
The exhibition’s Huakaiwaka Indoor Gallery can be found inside the Visitor Centre. If offers a varied range of medium and small scale sculpture from the artists exhibiting in the outdoor show, as well as work from previous exhibitors and invited guest artists from all over the country. Curated by Cheryl Wright, the show reflects the incredible diversity of contemporary Aotearoa New Zealand sculptural practice.
Works in the Huakaiwaka Indoor Gallery are for sale at a wide range of price points. The exhibition is ever changing – one visit is never enough!

Concept drawings
On the west wing walls, the framed concept drawings by the selected outdoor artists show their submitted proposals. It is always interesting to view these drawings, following the artists concept to the finished work positioned in the Gardens.
Gallery protocol
We may be in a garden setting but normal art gallery protocol remains to keep our artists’ works safe. School groups must enquire with staff to arrange a visit. Children must be supervised, no bags, no touching the art! Thank you.
