Bio-Magaret-Feeney.jpg

Margaret Feeney is a practising artist and works from her studio in Waikato. She uses an expanded methodology of 2D and 3D studio work, symposia talks and Collective Invention workshops.

“My art practice looks at the hijacking of the natural world and the human built world by the modern market system.”

Margaret has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Aotearoa, and is currently working towards a Water Systems sculpture for Sculpture on the Gulf 2022. She is also working on ongoing research project Fosca: It Started With a Kiss supported by Creative New Zealand and the Blumhardt Foundation.

Margaret readily shares her ideas. She has a BA in Art History from Victoria University, Wellington and a Master of Fine Art from RMIT, Melbourne. She has tutored at universities, prisons, polytechnics and private and community art schools. She currently works at Māpura Studios in Auckland: an outsider art studio for artists living with diversity and adversity.
